Periodontal disease is a destructive, multifactorial, bacterial condition affecting the tissue that keeps the teeth in the alveoli.
Periodontitis requires a complex, multidisciplinary treatment, which aims to stabilize the periodontal structures, but also the hard dental structures.
The restoration of non-carious lesions increases the strength of the tooth, prevents fracturing, and eliminates the dentinal hypersensitivity. Gingival tissue proximity makes the restoration more difficult and in restoration procedures bleeding is usually anticipated.
Is is required a multidisciplinary approach, providing the proper protocol for restoration helps the practitioners to manage this kind of lesions appropriately.
