The International Congress of Dental Medicine for Students and Young Dentists, DENTis 2015 took place between the 7th and the 9th of May 2015, at Cluj-Napoca Students’ Cultural House.
The event was organized by the Organization of Dental Students of Cluj-Napoca, together with the „Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Cluj-Napoca and the Romanian Dental College from Cluj-Napoca, having Oral B as main sponsor and several other partners: Colgate, Cluj-Napoca 2015 – European Capital of Youth, DigiDent, GC, Alb Studio, Kerr, NASTIMED, Dentsply, RED, Terra Dent, Geistlich, MedidentExim, Artis, Quintessence.
The Organization of Dental Students in Cluj-Napoca had, among the other partners, a crucial role in the organisation of this edition, by helping both logistically and being part of the scientific program, being a constant support for the students.
This Congress edition hosted there were 353 participants, out of which 215 were part of the „Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Cluj-Napoca, 44 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iași , 31 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest, 16 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy Constanța, 15 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timișoara, 13 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy Târgu-Mureș, 10 – Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy Oradea and 9 from Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy Arad.
The conferences were held by lecturers from „Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Cluj-Napoca (Prof. Dr. Diana Dudea, Assistant Prof. Dr. Ștefan Adrian Petruțiu, Prof. Dr. Alexandra Roman, Associate Prof. Dr. Mihaela Hedesiu, Associate Prof. Dr. Camelia Alb, Assistant Prof. Dr. Florin Alb, Associate Prof. Dr. Horațiu Rotaru, Assistant Prof. Dr. Sebastian Trancă, Dr. Dan Lazăr, Student Radu Lazăr etc.), but also by guest lecturers: from University of Medicine and Pharmacy Târgu-Mureș (Prof. Dr. Sorin Popsor). There were several special guests: Prof. Dr. Herve Tassery, Marseilles University, France, Dr. Peter Kiefner, Germany, Assistant Prof. Dr. Mathieu Contrepois, Bordeaux , France, Assistant Prof. Dr. François Vigouroux, Bordeaux, France, Assistant Prof. Dr. Julien Brothier, Bordeaux, France and Associate Prof. Dr. Emmanuel D’Incau, Bordeaux, France.
The number of scientific presentations was 20, as follows: 13 from University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj-Napoca, 5 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iași, 1 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy București, 1 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timișoara.
At the same time, the following workshops were organized: “Exercises of infra-bone defect regenerations using Bio-practice Oss and BioGide membrane”, “Photographic examination in dentistry”, “ Hands-on on gingival augmentation with MucoGraft on pig mandible”, “Complex restorations in the posterior zone by using semi-direct inlay technique”, “Introduction in the endodontic microscopy”, “Direct and indirect coronal reconstructions”, “CAD-CAM technology – digital methods for full ceramic restorations”.
