The International Congress of Dental Medicine for Students and Young Dentists, DENTis 2014, took place between the 8th and the 10th of May 2014, at Cluj-Napoca Students’ Cultural House.
The event was organized by the Organization of Dental Students in Cluj, together with „Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Cluj-Napoca and the Romanian Dental College from Cluj-Napoca, having Oral B as main sponsor and several other partners: Colgate, NASTIMED, Dentsply, Hu-Friedy, Terra Dent, Euphoria Music Hall, Royal Hotel, Stomestet Dental Clinic, Digi Dent, Cluj Orthodontic Centre, Alb Smile Design, Nicole cake shop.
The Organization of Dental Students in Cluj-Napoca had, among the other partners, a crucial role in the organisation of this edition, by helping both logistically and being part of the University’s Scientific Program, offering a constant support for the students.
This Congress edition hosted 321 participants, out of which 197 were part of the „Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Cluj-Napoca, 25 – Bucharest University of Medicine and Pharmacy, 41 – Iași University of Medicine and Pharmacy, 14 – Constanța University of Medicine and Pharmacy, 17 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, 8 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timișoara, 12 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy Târgu-Mureș and 7 from Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy Oradea.
The conferences were held by lecturers from „Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Cluj-Napoca (Associate Prof. Dr. Ada Delean, Lecturer Dr. Sanda Cîmpean, Prof. Dr. Roman Alexandra, Prof. Dr. Diana Dudea etc.), but also by guest lecturers: from University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timișoara (Associate Prof. Dr. Anca Vâlceanu), University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest (Prof. Dr. Constantin Vârlan). There were several special guests: Lecturer Dr. Özkan Adigüzel,, Dicle University, Turkey, Assistant Prof. Dr. Jean-Philippe Pia, Assistant Prof. Dr. Mathieu Contrepois, Bordeaux, France and Associate Prof. Dr. Emmanuel D’Incau, Bordeaux, France.
The number of scientific presentations was 29, as follows: 8 from University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj-Napoca, 8 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy București, 4 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timișoara, 3 – University of Medicine and Pharmacy Chișinău, Republic of Moldova and 6 from University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iași.
